Commissioner Job Description

Administrative Responsibilities:
● Keep league Presidents informed of current events.
● Update the Board of Governors and AD’s of any change in the “standards of care” for sport participation.
● Appoint representatives to the NCS Board of Managers, EBAL Board of Governors, Sports Advisory Committee, Eligibility Committee, and
any other committees as deemed necessary.
● Responsible for developing an annual budget and monitoring EBAL financials in collaboration with EBAL finance committee and bookkeeper
● Create agendas for all league meetings.
● Manage a part-time stipend staff - webmaster, bookkeeper. additional staff as determined
● Attend all EBAL league meetings, NCS Sport Advisory meetings, and any additional meetings that may be required.
● Organize committees when necessary.
● Develop league schedules in collaboration with ADs
● Manage sport coordinators Safety and Compliance:
● Enforce, support, and defend the CIF, NCS, EBAL Constitution/Bylaws and Sport Handbooks for each league.
● Ensure Title IX requirements are implemented.
● Work with the EBAL sport coordinators with schedules, playoffs, awards, etc
● Address issues using the NCS guidelines for settling protests and appeal hearings Training, Onboarding, and General Support:
● Provide and facilitate AD workshop for all new AD’s to the EBAL.
● Provide and facilitate AD workshop for all new head varsity coaches to the EBAL.
● Attend the CSADA Conference/Provide dinner for EBAL attendees.
● Attend all coaches’ pre/post meetings.

● Maintain the Conference website on a weekly basis in collaboration with EBAL webmaster.
● Set up and facilitate Zoom meetings as needed.
