GENERAL

All matches shall be conducted according to the National Federation of State High School Athletic Associations. 

Weight Classes will be as determined by CIF.

Classification weigh-ins shall be conducted according to NFHS

The number of contacts shall be determined by the NCS not including EBAL, NCS, and CIF tournaments.

 

DUAL MEETS

Division of Leagues for Dual Meets

Teams will be placed in the mountain or valley division based on the average team finish of the league tournament from the previous 2 years.  (1 point for 1st, 2 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd place, etc)

The four teams with the lowest average will be placed in the mountain division.

The six teams with the highest division will be placed in the valley division.

In the case of tie for the 4th spot in the mountain division placement, the most recent year’s standings will be used where the higher place team will be placed in the mountain division.

 

Representation at the NCS Duals will be decided based on the standings of each division.​

 

League Dual Meets

  • A. Weigh-ins will be conducted 1 hour before the start of the first competition.

  • B. Visiting coach to conduct weigh-ins.

  • C. Starting Time:

i. Home team to determine one or two mats and notify the visiting team if two mats will be used (2 days notice required).

  1. Single mat matches - JV's 6:00pm - Var. to follow. 

  2. Two mat matches - both JV & Var start at 6:30pm.

 The EBAL Champion for the Mountain and Valley divisions will be determined by Dual Meet Records.  The tie breaker is the highest place at the EBAL Tournament

 



League Tournament

 

  1. Varsity League tournament to be held on Saturday. 

  2. There will be a separate varsity boys tournament and a separate varsity girls tournament.

    1. Schools may only have one representative per weight class.

 

  1. JV Tournament will be held on the Thursday, Friday, or Saturday of the week of the varsity league tournament.

    1. There will be a separate JV boys tournament and a separate JV girls tournament.

      1. Brackets will be formed based on pooled weight.

      2. Brackets will be 3 man round robin or 8 man brackets based on tournament directors discretion on what they feel is best to group wrestlers of like weights.

 

EBAL League Meet Seeding 

    A.    The seeding meeting for the EBAL tournament will be held the night of the JV EBAL tournament.  If the JV and varsity tournament are held on the same day, the varsity seeding meeting will be held the night before the varsity tournament.

B. Seeding Criteria

  • Head to Head

  • Coaches vote

  • C. Seeding procedures will be the same for both the boys and girls league tournament. 

  • 1. In seeding the league tournament, each coach will present the following:

    • Team’s roster for league tournament. Once presented, this line-up cannot change.

    • A list of his seedable wrestlers. All wrestlers on this list must be seeded. If a wrestler’s name is not on this list, then they will not be seeded.

  • 2. The procedure for the seeding meeting will be as follows:

    • Coaches turn in rosters, seeding lists and pre-match weigh-in forms

    • Seeding of respective weights will begin

3. The boys and girls seeding meetings will be held in separate rooms at the same time.

Sec. 8       Coaches can agree to have highlighted match last.

Sec.9        First place in each event will receive an all league patch. First – third place will receive a certificate. 2/9/06

 

Sec. 10     The EBAL automatic team to the NCS Dual Team Championship will be based on the EBAL dual standings.

Sec. 12     There will be two certified scales at the EBAL tournament   

Sec 13     Game ending procedures; Any contest that is suspended for any reason will continue from the point of interruption, unless mutually agreed upon by the schools involved to end the contest (example- game out of reach and both schools agree to end the

                 contest).

Sec. 14   Hardships:  In order for a wrestler to apply for a “hardship” for qualifying for the section tournament, the following conditions

                must be met:

  • The “hardship” wrestler must be under medical care.  A note must be provided from a registered medical practitioner by the start of the varsity tournament.

  •  

  • The ‘hardship” must be declared at the EBAL varsity wrestling seeding meeting.​

  • Sec. 15  Representatives at the NCS Seeding Meeting- Representation at the NCS seeding meeting will be filled by the Head coaches whose teams placed first and second in the EBAL wrestling tournament
