COMPETITIVE SPORT CHEER (CSC):
Sec. 1.0 SEASON
1.1 CSC is a Spring sport as defined by the NCS.
1.2 Practice may start on the date listed in the NCS Sports Handbook.
1.3 League Schedule is determined by rotation and availability.
1.4 Each team is responsible for accurately reporting their team’s stats.
1.5 League standing will be determined by the league season record
1.6 Tiebreaker will be determined by the EBAL tiebreaker rules
1.7 No sharing of stunt routines with student athletes until the first day of season
1.8 No more than 36 on the sideline during competition.
Sec. 2.0 CONTEST INFORMATION
2.1 League games are to be played on Tuesdays and Fridays.
2.2 Starting time will be after 5:00PM. If transportation is late, a suitable warm-up
time will be allotted.
2.3 Duration and order of games will be 3 4-round quarters and 1 3-round quarter,
overtime will be determined by play of game.
2.4 Admission to Stunt events will be $5 for all events.
Sec. 3.0 NUMBER OF COMPETITIONS
3.1 Maximum number of games is 28.
3.2 Scrimmages determined by NCS bylaws.
3.3 Teams cannot play more than one league game per date.
3.4 Tournaments
1) All tournament games, excluding NCS post season games count game
for game against maximum contests.
3.5 All teams will play EBAL teams twice in a season
3.6 - Min. of 15 players on a roster to qualify as a team
Sec. 4.0 RULES
4.1 All league games will be governed by rules according to the California
Interscholastic Federation, USA Cheer Federation, North Coast Section and East
Bay Athletic League rules and bylaws.
4.2 Will remain Varsity only sport.
Sec. 5.0 EQUIPMENT, UNIFORMS, AND OFFICIALS
5.1 Uniform must conform with that listed in the USA Cheer rule book/NCS/EBAL.
1) Home teams will have dark jersey.
2) Away teams will have light jersey.
5.2 Each school will pay for all officials on hosting date.
5.2a If team forfeits within 24 hours of an assigned match, that school forfeiting is responsible for paying for officials
for their forfeited match.
5.3 Hosting school is responsible for all hosting materials for all games.
5.4 Each hosting school is responsible for providing 9 panel mats of the same
thickness (minimum thickness 1 3/8”) and white tape/velcro for playing surface.
Sec. 7.0 AWARDS
7.1 All-League Selections
1) Coaches will nominate athletes from their own team.
2) The number of nominations – 1st place 6 nominations, 2nd place 5 nominations, 3rd and 4th place 4 nominations, 5th – 9th place 2 nominations.
3) There will be a first and second team of 9 athletes; anyone nominated
will receive honorable mention.
4) Coaches will vote for 9 athletes for first team – 10 points and second
team – 5 points.
5) If there is a tie, those in the tie will be voted to break the tie.
Sec. 8.0 Game ending procedures: Any contest that is suspended for any reason will continue
from the point of interruption, unless mutually agreed upon by the schools involved, to end the contest.
(Example – game out of reach and both schools agree to end the contest.)
