​LACROSSE
Sec. 1         All rules and bylaws of the EBAL, NCS, CIF and the lacrosse rules book published
by the national Federation of the State High School Officials will be followed.
Sec. 2         League Games; each team will play the other EBAL teams once in the regular
season;.  League games will be played on Friday.  The start time will be Varsity at 7:00 PM and the JVs at 5:30 PM
Sec. 3     The league champion will be determined by the won-lost record with EBAL opponents.  Tie-breaker procedure will follow the EBAL procedures.
Sec.4    Post season play; the EBAL will follow the guidelines of the NCS regarding post-season play.
Sec. 5         Seniors may not play in JV games, scrimmages or tournaments.
Sec. 6         Spectators in the Field Area:
  1. Lacrosse is a dangerous sport using a hard rubber ball thrown at a high velocity.  Spectators must be kept out of the field area. For the protection of the public, the following rules will apply to spectators during warm-up prior to the game, during the game and following the game.
  2. Along the field sidelines;
  1. Players, coaches, trainers and doctors
  2. Game officials and scorekeepers
  3. Photographers and members for the press as approved by the home field head coach.
  1. Behind the end lines;
  1. No one is allowed behind the end line of the field except no more than two ball retrievers at each end.  The ball retrievers are required to wear lacrosse protective equipment, including helmet, mouth guard, and other protective gear required of the players.  The ball retrievers shall remain at least 15 yards behind the end line during play. Their attire should be in contrast to the two teams playing on the field.
  2. All other persons shall remain in the designated spectator section of the field.
  3. Organized halftime events, home team will be permitted on the field.  All halftime participants must be off the field at least four minutes before the start of the second half to allow teams to warm up
Sec. 7         Team uniforms and attire shall conform to the requirements of the current Lacrosse Rules Book published by the National Federation of State High School Officials.
Sec. 8        Game ending procedures; Any contest that is suspended for any reason will continue from the point of interruption, unless mutually agreed upon by the schools involved to end the contest (example- game out of reach and both schools agree to end the contest).
ALL LEAGUE
Sec. 9    All EBAL Team 2/11/10 Boys’ will have a 12 player all league team( 9 field players, 1 goalie, 1 face off specialist and 1 long stick Middie or defensive short stick middie) Girls’ will have a 13 player all league team ( 12 players, and 1 goalie).
  1. An all league first, second and honorable mention team will be selected at the end of the regular season of play.  The number of nominations are; 1st place 8 ; 2nd  =7; 3rd =6; 4th = 5; and 5th –last 4 nominations.  The head coach will indicate the player’s first and last name, position, jersey number, and year in school.
  2. Coaches will send their nominations to the league commissioner the Monday prior to the last league game.
  3. The league commissioner will bring the nominations to the all league meeting.   The coaches will vote for a first and second team. First team votes get 10 points and second team votes get 5 points. Coaches may not vote for players on their own team.   The commissioner shall keep all ballots confidential.  Coaches may consult with each other only concerning the relative ranking of players on their own team.
Example:  if a position has three spots available, each coach would give three players 10 points and three players 5 points.

  1. In case of a tie for the last spot at a position (first team only), there will be a vote to break the tie for that spot.
Sec. 10        Player of the Year
  1. From the players nominate for the All-League, each coach will vote for three players for the EBAL Player of the Year, ranked 1-3.  The first place player will receive three points, the second two, and the third one point. The player receiving the most points will be named player of the year.  Coaches may not vote for their own player.
  2. In the case of a tie, the commissioner will submit a ballot of the tied players for a revote.  If the players are still tied after a second vote, there will be co-players of the year.
