WATER POLO:

Sec. 1.0     SEASON

  • Water Polo is a Fall sport as defined by the NCS.
  • Practice may start on the date listed in the NCS Sports Handbook.
  • League Schedule is determined by rotation.
  • Each home team coach is responsible for reporting game results to the newspaper in their area.
  • Seniors may compete at the JV level. (12/9/21)

Sec. 2.0    CONTEST INFORMATION

  • League games are to be played on Thursday.
  • Starting time will be 4:00PM.  If busses are late, a suitable warm-up time will be allotted.
  • Duration and order of games; 9/9/09
  • JV Girls’ –6-5 minute quarters
  • Varsity Girls’ –7-seven minute quarters
  • Varsity Boys’-7 minute quarters
  • JV Boys’ –6 or 5 minute quarters
  • Soph/Frosh (novice) –4-minute quarters
Sec. 3.0     NUMBER OF COMPETITIONS

  • Maximum number of games
  • All levels determined by NCS bylaws 6/5/08
  • Scrimmages determined by NCS bylaws
  • Tournaments-all tournament games, excluding NCS post season games count game for game against maximum contests
  • Practice Information-refer to NCS bylaws
Sec. 4.0     RULES

  • All league game will be governed by rules according to the California Interscholastic Federation, National Federation, North Coast Section and East Bay Athletic League rules and bylaws
Sec. 5.0     EQUIPMENT, UNIFORMS, AND OFFICIALS

  • All equipment must conform with that listed in the rule book.
  • The host school will provide and pay for officials according to EBAL Bylaws.
Sec. 6.0    LEAGUE CHAMPIONS determined by dual match schedule

Sec. 7.0    AWARDS            All-League Selections: 3/9/06

  • Coaches will nominate players from their own team.
  • The number of nominations –1st place 5 nominations, 2nd place 4 nominations, 3rd & 4th place 3 nominations, 5th –10th place 2 nominations
  • There will be a first and second team of 7 players (6 + goalie); anyone nominated will receive honorable mention.
  • Coaches will vote for 7 players for first team, 10 points and 5 points for second team.
  • If there is a tie, those in the tie will be voted to break the tie.

Sec. 8.0    NORTH COAST SECTION
  1. League Champion will be awarded an automatic spot in the NCS Section Championships.
  2. EBAL at large nominations to the NCS Championships will be determined by league policy.

Sec. 9.0    Game ending procedures: Any contest that is suspended for any reason will continue from the point of interruption, unless mutually agreed upon by the schools involved, to end the contest 9example- game out of reach and both schools agree to end the contest)
